5 Richest Igbo Men, Their State Of Origin, The Work They Do And Their Estimated Networth

Igbo tribe is an hardworking tribe in Nigeria with a lot of illustrious son. They have shown within years that hard work and dedication is the key to success.

Among the Igbo men who have rose to fame and wealth in Nigeria and have contributed in no small means to the development of Nigeria economy and GDP have been listed below. They include:

1.Pascal Uzoma Gabriel Dozie
Pascal Dozie was born on April 9 1939. He is a native of Egbu in Owerri area of Imo state. Dr Dozie is a graduate of Economics from the popular London school of Economics he then proceed to city university in London where obtained a masters degree in administration in the year 1963, the same year Nigeria became a Republc. One notable fact about Dr. Dozie is that he never worked for anyone. After his education he started his own consultancy firm and has a lot of agencies he was consulting fo. After this he founded Kunoch limited and most especially he was the founder and former chairman of Diamond bank and former chairman of MTN telecommunications, he was a former director of the central bank of Nigeria and a one time president of Nigerian stock exchange. His networh according to the the latest ranking released by forbes is estimated at $1billion dollars.

2. Arthur Eze
Arthur Eze was born on the 27th of November 1948 in Ukpo village, Dunukofia Local Government Anambra State, He attended st. Augustin secondary school in imo state. After that he traveled out and attended California stare university where he sudied and graduated with a bachelor's degree in Mechanicial and Chemical Engineering. Arthur Eze founded Atlas Oranto Petroleum in 1991. The company currently has 22 oil and gas licenses in 12 jurisdictions across Africa. It has assets in Nigeria, Equatorial Guinea, and several Atlas Oranto operated blocks. Till date, the company is the largest holder of oil exploration blocks in Africa.

He is a philanthropist and a cheerful giver who has contributed in various act of kindness like building of schools, hostels, provision of relief funds and big contributions to churches.

His estimated net worth is unknown but he has been rated to be among the 20 richest men in Nigeria by Forbes.

3. ABC Orjiako
A native of Umuchima, Uli, Ihiala area of Anambra state. Ambrose Bryant Orjiako was born on the 1st of October, 1960. ABC Orjiako is the Chairman and co-founder of SEPLAT, a leading Nigerian independent oil and gas company listed on the London and Nigerian stock exchanges with a strategic focus in the Niger Delta of Nigeria. A graduate of M.B.B.S.CH from the college of clinical science in 1985 he later trained as a general surgeon from the Lagos university teaching hospital. He established and managed various companies in the upstream, downstream and service sectors of the oil and gas industry in Nigeria. These include Abbeycourt Trading Company Limited, Abbeycourt Energy Services Limited, Zebbra Energy Limited and Shebah Exploration and Production Company Limited In 2009, his company Shebah Exploration and Production Company and Platform Petroleum Limited co-founded SEPLAT. Since inception, he has remained the Chairman spearheading new business development and providing leadership on strategy and stakeholder relationships.

He is rated by Forbes to be among the top 20 richest men in Nigeria.

4. Ifeanyi Ubah
Ifeanyi Ubah was born on the 3rd of September 1971. He was the first son of seven children and hails from Otolo in Anambra state in Eastern Nigeria. But contrary to the story of other millionaires and billionaires, Ifeanyi Ubah was not educated because his parents were not financially capable to provide for his education. Yet he did not allow that to deter his dreams, he dropped out of school and started learning work as an apprentice. He learnt a lot of trade and was soon into exporting and importing of motor tyres and spare part across Africa and soon extended his business tentacles abroad to countries like Belgium and united kingdom. In 2001 he took his business acumen to another level when he founded capital oil and gas limited. apart from dealing in spare part and oil and gas, he owns a Nigerian newspaper called the Authority newspaper and also owns the Ifeanyi Ubah football club that plays in the Nigerians professional football league. His networth is uncertain but he is included in Forbes list of richest men in Nigeria.

5. Orji Uzor Kalu
Orji Uzor Kalu was born on April 21, 1960 to the family of Mr. Johnson Uzor Nesiegbe Kalu and Mrs Eunice Kalu. He is a native of Abia state. He is also the chairman of SLOK Holding and the Daily Sun and New Telegraph newspapers in Nigeria, He served as the Governor of Abia State, Nigeria from May 29, 1999, to May 29, 2007.

Prior to his election, he served as the chairman of the Borno Water Board and the chairman of the Cooperative and Commerce Bank Limited. With only $35 to his name that he had borrowed from his mother, Kalu began trading palm oil, first buying the oil from Nigeria's eastern regions and then selling it in the country's northern regions.

He then began buying and reselling furniture on a large scale. Kalu eventually established SLOK Holding, a conglomerate that would consist of a number of successful companies, including the Ojialex Furniture Company, SLOK Nigeria Limited, SLOK United Kingdom Limited, Adamawa Publishers Limited, SLOK Vegetable Oil, Aba, SLOK Paper Factory, Aba, SLOK United States Incorporated, SLOK Ghana, Togo, Cotonou, Guinea, South Africa, Liberia, Botswana, SLOK Korea, Supreme Oil Limited, SLOK Airlines, Sun Publishing Limited, and First International Bank Limited. He is worth $1.1billion dollars according to the ranking released by forbes and he is among the top 10 richest men in Nigeria.
